2013 Specialized Allez Comp Apex Mid-Compact

From easy rides on your favorites roads, to leg-testing centuries and forays into racing, Specialized's Allez Comp Apex Mid-Compact has got you covered. Its svelte E5-aluminum frame is paired with a FACT tapered carbon fork for a ride so smooth and responsive, you'll have to swing a leg over it to believe it. Plus, the speedy DT Swiss wheels make going faster easier than ever before, while the compact (with a 52/36 crankset) SRAM 20-speed drivetrain offers a full spread of hill-climbing gears. And, the Allez Comp is spec'd with a choice spread of Specialized's tires and aluminum components, too.

        Comments:

I love this bike. Its good quality, has good looks, also very light in weight. I believe when I first bought this bike, it was around 21-22lbs (pounds). I believe by now I have gotten the bike to sit just under 20lbs (pounds). I have upgraded the wheels, saddle, pedals, seatpost, stem, derailleurs, and chain. It can keep up with the carbon bad boys. The apex class shift system is ok but I have upgraded them to something lighter and smoother. The Sram Apex shifters was average but did not impress me. Great bike overall!

        Comments:

I went from a hybrid to the Allez and I am very happy with this bike. It is fast and responsive. I have had this bike up to 26 - 28 mph while sitting on the seat and on a flat road. I am 62 yrs. old and love the ride on this bike. It may not be quite as light as some others but I am not worried about 6-8 ounces difference. I ride for enjoyment and my health. Don't be afraid to ride this bike.I love the shifters on it.

          Comments:

I am using this bike for my first sprint triathlon in May. The full carbon bikes were out of my price range, so I selected this one, which has a light aluminum frame and carbon forks. I hadn't ridden bike in over 15 years, but the moment I hopped on this one I felt as if I was flying! So far, my top speed when riding this bike has been 22.4 mph. If the triathlon "bug" strikes but you're on a budget, then this bike is definitely for you!
