I was looking for a bike that has Shimano Tiagra and a carbon fork that has a price within my budget range, and Specialized has it! The component in this bike is excellent, smooth ride, light and easy shifting on gears. Also the geometric design is perfect.

    Comments:

The SRAM Apex are a good set of components, but I would of preferred Rival Components over Apex... The DT Axis Wheels and Factory Tires were a bit too heavy, so I upgraded the Wheels to SRAM S27's and the Tires to Schwalbe Ultremo's !I used this bike to train for the [...] 2012 [...] to [...] Bicycle Classic which is a 2 Day 202 Mile Ride from the University of [...] to Downtown [...]. On the Actual 2 Day Ride, the Bike Performed pretty well but has some poor handling when climbing those really high steep grade hills that are over a mile long and when coasting downhill its gets pretty wobbly and unstable!I would Recommend this bike as more of a Recreational Bike for the Non-Competitive Racer. In terms of Entry level Racing, I would recommend getting the Wilier Triestina 2012 Izoard XP bike !!!

I recently graduated from weekend rider to 'in triathlon training'. With a limited budget, I didn't go crazy with full carbon frame (although if you can afford it full carbon bikes are a LOT of fun). This is a good bike to train on - it is light and easy to handle. It is fast and does not get in the way and gets your juices flowing. Its a great 'first road bike' and I highly recommend it to anyone

I rode a Trek for the last 20 years and decide it was time for a new bike. I was so impressed with the Specialized that I had to buy it. The color choice and the Tiagra components were a great choice for the price. The ONLY thing that I'm not 100% satisfied with is the choice of rear gears. I would like for the the rear cog to be an 11-30 set for the best of top end AND climbing. All in all the bike still climbs quick and easy. The bike is very smooth and quiet and I have found nothing wrong with it so far. You wont regret buying this bike.

          Comments:

Bought bike about Thanksgiving. Have put over 100 miles on bike so far. It is a very fast, responsive, and light bike. It has reacted positivly to almost every test. The two things I have concerns about are the hard seat and the gears will not shift from small to big ring. Longest ride so far is 40 miles and my rearend was getting sore the last 10. I have had to have the gears tweeked after each time I have gone out because it will not switch from small to big ring. On each ring the gears work great. It looks like the jump from small to large ring is just a bit much. I am trying to get the problem solved. I have the 2011, not the 2012. they may have fixed the gear problem for the 2012. I have friends that have the same gearing in other bikes and they are ok with theirs.
