We bought this for our 18 month old son. At first he was really slow but within 6 months he was able to run and balance on two wheels! He loves his bike and we always get a ton of compliments everywhere we go with the bike. Definitely worth the money!

        Comments:

We bought this bike for my almost-2.5 year old son, after much deliberation. Within days he was starting to glide short distances, and now a month later he flies down the street. Everyone who sees it is amazed! As for our son, he wants to do nothing else. What sold me on this model was the quality of the materials and construction, espeically the real bike tires, the footrest for gliding, the grips on the handlebars, and the cushioned seat. It's the same quality and feel as a "real" bike, and these same features (the grip of real bike tires, the cusioned seat, the good hand grips and the footrest) helped my son master the bike more quickly. The easy reach to the ground and cushioned seat make it comfortable and he never wants to get off. I was skeptical of the whole balance bike concept going in, but I am now 100% convinced, and glad I spent that little bit more for the better quality bike. My LBS's service and assitance were wonderful. They let my son try various bikes, answered our questions, and never pressured. We love the bike (and most importantly, my son loves it) and would recommend it (and my LBS) to anyone. Highest possible recommendation!

        Comments:

There are a lot of balance bikes on the market now it seems. We looked at wooden ones; we looked Striders' we looked at one by Novarra and several others too. This is the only one we found that didn't feel like a toy. Specialized nailed it with this one. It's a very well built bike (sans pedals), and it's now lasted through two children and looks almost as new as the day we bought it. To this day, I tell parents, concerned about how quickly their children grow and contemplating buying a bike with training wheels, that they really need to consider a balance bike. Balance bikes are worth it, and more specifically, I find myself recommending this bike. The prices on the bikes we had considered varied and while this was slightly higher than some of the others the heft and solid build of this made it very well worth the extra dough. As we had anticipated, both of our kids skipped the training wheel phase and went right to two-wheelers when they outgrew this. I'm quite confident your experience with this will be every bit as impressive as ours. -Sincerely, Mom and Dad of two very active little bicyclists!

This is the best bike I have ever owned. At the price, you cant go wrong. I have owned bikes such as the Specialized Demo 3 and the Trek Status 2, and those dont even compare to the Hotwalk. This thing is so smooth and versatile too. I almost qualified for the tour using this and have won many Downhill titles using it as well. The suspension is just phenomomal, as is the handling. This bike is so strong and light, most likely due to the Shimano saint components. Everybody should own this BOYS HOTWALK!!!!!

We have purchased this bike for our at that time 1 1/2 year old son in May of 2011. It's been a little more than a year and I love seeing my older kid who is 2 years 9 months now riding it. His ballance has improved so much that he's able to coast down the road for long distances, he climbs up a hill just to ride down with his feet up on a platform, makes good turns and is almost ready to get o a regular bike. despite lots of usage, this bike still looks like brand new, feels great (I actually set on it) and is ready to be passed to our younger kid next year. There are other bikes similar to this one and at cheaper prices, but quality of this product is superb! One way to improve it would be to add some simple breaks, as my kid is using his feet to slow down.

I just purchased the Hotwalk for my grandson who is turning two. After checking out other manufacturers I settled on the Specialized. Not suprising to find the same great quality in this bike as in the Specialized bikes I ride! Since my grandson is still a little small, I had the shop cut 1 1/2 inches off the seat post so that it fits him better. Still plenty of post remaining to accomodate growth. Can't wait to give it to him because he is scooting around now on his 3 wheeler.

Bought this bike a year ago for my now 3 1/2 year old. He's now coasting with his feet up on the platforms. He loves it and now we can take walks with him and he actually moves faster than we do. He also lifts his feet up and pedals imaginary pedals. I've seen a few other brands around. If planning on spending $100+ on a balance bike, this is the one to get. (1) It is a real quality bike manufactured by a bike company. There are some other brands that are nearly as expensive but are made from less than quality materials. They seem toy-like in comparison. (2) It is very small and light, despite the fact that it has real 12" tires. Many of the other brands have 10" plastic tires as opposed to the 12" pneumatic ones with alloy wheels that come on the Hotwalk. (3) The only downside is - and I'm not even sure if this is a big deal - that the steering is not restricted. My sone hasn't had a problem with it.

We bought this for our 2.5 yr old son for Christmas. He LOVES it! He coasts around our yard, house, and dirt trails every chance he can. We thought the balance bike was a great idea and so far it's a real hit in our home. We can't wait to buy the Hotrock and see how he does without training wheels!

We bought this bike a couple years ago even though we thought it was expensive...now we think it was a bargain because our two boys have learned to ride without training wheels before the age of 3! Both can now ride a regular bike no problem and have amazed friends and neighbors with their balance and confidence. Highly recommend.

Bought this for my son when he was a few months shy of turning 2. He fit the bike pretty good on the lowest setting. He started out just walking along on the bike and within a couple of weeks he was flying down the sidewalk. Its a year later and although it still fits him great his Dad wants to upgrade him to a bike with pedals. Our friends have the strider which is significantly less but I don't regret paying the extra money for the air tires and quality.
