I have been a fan of my old steel bike for several decades but recently decided to join some rides. Some of the cyclists I know recommended Specialized, so did the LBS. I rode my first half century on my Secteur with no issues. It was nimble, quick and comfortable the entire distance.

              Comments:

I had been looking for a road bike for several months and I took test rides on road bikes from several of the big manufactures to see what fit the best. The Secteur was the bike that I kept going back to. The upright geometry does not hurt my back or shoulders like the more race oriented bikes and the components are more than adequate to start with. I have not weighed the bike but picking it up is a breeze and I am amazed how quick it gets up and moving when you pedal. The only thing I needed to add was a water bottle cage, lights and a set of clipless pedals. The ride is very comfortable and everything seems to work as it should. The only complaint I have is that the shifting is not as quick or as crisp as I would like, but in the pricepoint I was at, it is something I could deal with. I do not see the need to make any upgrades at this time and I am happy just to get out and put in the miles!! I plan to put in 1000's of miles on this bike and it feels like it will hold up to anything I can throw at it. The streets here in Las Cruces are pretty bad and the carbon fork has made my riding much more enjoyable. Watch out Raasaf...I think I finally have the bike to conquer you!! I couldn't be happier with my purchase...touche Specialized!!

My wife replaced my old bike with this beauty yesterday from my LBS (Shout out to Red Wheel Bike Shop in Jefferson City, MO). This bike is extremely comfortable for long rides. It has exceptional handling and is quick as well. The color and styling of this bike caught my eye as soon as I walked in to the shop. I love it. I definitely recommend this to any new riders or even experienced riders looking for a nice smooth ride. I myself prefer long rides over fast rides and this is going to see many of them in its long life with me. Happy riding all!!!!

I am pretty heavy, 300+. this bike feels very sterdy under me and rides very smoothly. I upgraded from a trek navigator. this bike has really flattens hills and increased my speed by about 5mph. I cant bring myself to get back on the trek after riding this

I ride 2 to 3 times/week. I have put 150 miles and the bike is really light, responsive and fast. I can get upto to 26m/hr within seconds and i'm not in the bes shape. The only thing i don't like is the shifters don't shift smoothly but that's what you get for Shimano 2300.I did replace the seat with an Idamo and the tires replaced with Gatosskin tires after 1 flat.perfect bike for entry level and the design is absolutely awesome.

The folks at the Bike Barn in Clear Lake were awesome. They provided guidance and suggestions for me when I was looking for a bike. No pressure sales for bikes or equipment. They also gave great advice on what I really needed for the ride I am training for, as well as what I needed to get later on (as far as gear and / or equipment). The bike itself is wonderful. My previous bike was a standard, Wal Mart Mountain Bike type. Good for brush rides but not so great for a long distance rides. This bike (Specialized / Secteur / Compact) is lightweight, agile, and tough and performs on the mark. It may not be fancy or too high tech but one of its greatest features is its simplicity. The bike is great and the staff at the Bike Barn in Clear Lake, Texas was / is awesome as well. I would recommend both the bike and the Bike Barn to my family, friends and professional associates as well. Thanks!!
